About Grouse Fibre

Our Story

Grouse Fibre was formed in 2024 in response to the climate emergency. Our protein fibre concept was formed and refined by Dr. Tom O'Haire, our founder and CEO. Our team combines materials scientists, chemists and agronomists to tackle the challenge of sustainable protein fibre manufacture.

We are committed to creating a commercially viable protein fibre production platform that scales.

This can help drive the transition to peat-free growing media.

Our motivation

This idea came about when we asked ourselves the question "What is the most important and impactful thing we can work on?".

The answer to that question is finding a sustainable means of generating protein fibres and applying them in an application that values their unique characteristics. We are keen to speak with experts in protein feedstocks, fibre processing and horticulture.
